Wearing Make-up After Laser Skin Resurfacing

Posted by administration on January 22, 2014

Many cosmetic patients want to know when they can start wearing make-up after laser skin resurfacing. The general rule for most patients is that you should not wear make-up for at least one week after treatment. Because this very effective treatment actually removes the outer layers of skin, the effect is much like a second degree burn. Your face will need time to heal and re-grow new healthy skin.

Your doctor will give you specific instructions on how to clean and moisturize the treated areas. You should follow these instructions exactly to promote proper healing.

After the one week mark, you should ask your doctor if you can start applying minimal oil-free make-up. Don’t assume you can start wearing make-up; always check with your doctor first.

So if you are planning to have a laser skin resurfacing procedure, keep in mind that you can’t rush the healing process. If you are having this procedure done to prepare for a special event, be sure to plan enough healing time so you can look your very best for the event.

If you would like to learn more about laser skin resurfacing or any cosmetic procedure to rejuvenate the skin and eliminate wrinkles, contact Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center in Aurora to schedule a free Cosmetic Consultation. Call 303-367-9000 or visit serotamd.com.

Take Steps to Achieve Your (Physical) Dreams

Posted by administration on January 09, 2014

What are your dreams? Most of us have one or more personal aspirations. The Dream Come True Foundation has designated January 13, 2014 as National Make Your Dream Come True Day. So, rather than listing nebulous New Year’s resolutions, use January 13 to actually take steps to make those dreams a reality.

If one of your dreams is to look younger, improve your body contour or alter the effects of pregnancy or weight loss on your body, there may be ways to stop dreaming and start living your life with renewed self-confidence.

At Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center, we have helped thousands of men and women enhance their appearance through plastic surgery and non-surgical cosmetic treatments. The problem is that many people leave facial rejuvenation and a sculpted body in the “dream” category, without ever truly investigating if they can afford cosmetic surgery. The only way to know for sure which procedure might produce the effects you desire is by meeting with a cosmetic surgeon one-on-one. You may learn that the best procedure for you is completely different from what you expected.

January 13 is the perfect day to schedule a free Cosmetic Consultation and really take that first step. Dr. Serota offers free Cosmetic Consultations to analyze your “trouble” areas, assess your medical condition and provide recommendations for treatment. You can also learn about cosmetic surgery financing options.

Make a “New Year, New You” Resolution

Posted by administration on January 02, 2014

Welcome to 2014! We all make resolutions this time of year (to lose weight, stop smoking, get a better job), but despite our good intentions of putting ourselves first, our resolutions often get buried under other responsibilities.

This year, make a conscious effort to move your own happiness up the priority list. Plastic surgery and cosmetic treatment options have helped millions of men and women increase their self-confidence through procedures like:

  • Tummy tucks and liposuction to remove excess fat and skin after extreme weight loss or pregnancy
  • BOTOX® and dermal fillers to soften facial lines and smooth wrinkles
  • Breast augmentation and breast lifts to reverse the signs of pregnancy and breastfeeding
  • Arm lift surgery to tighten and tone the upper arms

You shouldn’t have to navigate through 2014 being unhappy about your appearance. There are so many different options, both surgical and non-surgical, that can enhance your natural beauty and help you rediscover a New You. No doctor can guarantee that these procedures will absolutely change your life; however, the continued popularity of cosmetic surgery and treatments are a testament to their effectiveness...when performed by a reputable surgeon, of course.

Don’t just assume that cosmetic surgery is unobtainable. Contact Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center in Denver today to schedule a Cosmetic Consultation and find out what type of procedure might produce the results you want. You can also ask about cosmetic surgery financing. Call today at 303-367-9000 or schedule an appointment online at serotamd.com

Blepharoplasty Procedure

Posted by administration on December 18, 2013

A blepharoplasty procedure is an outpatient procedure that takes approximately 60 minutes. There is no need for general anesthesia. A mild sedative is administered to ensure that patients are totally comfortable and local anesthesia is then applied to the area.

Once the surgery is over, the patient should relax for the first two days. An antibiotic ointment and ice packs are applied for the first several days to promote healing and reduce any swelling. While there is swelling and tightness of skin associated with this procedure, around 70-80% of the swelling disappears within the first week. After two weeks, close to 90% of the swelling will have dissipated. Any bruising should resolve within three weeks.

If you are interested in learning more about this procedure, contact Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center in Denver to schedule a no charge consultation. During this examination Dr. Serota can determine whether a blepharoplasty procedure will accomplish your objectives and answer any other questions you have about the procedure.
