Breast Surgery Healing Process
Breast surgery is like any surgery. It involves anesthesia, some discomfort and then healing. However, the type of breast surgery performed and the skill of the surgeon can influence the healing process.
If you undergo breast augmentation, you will be taken into a recovery area. Typically you will be sent home after a few hours. At home, you will be asked to wear a support bra or garment. The first several days after surgery, your breasts will be swollen. You will be instructed to cleanse your incision sites and follow other instructions as needed. Ice packs can be used to help with swelling and pain medication is typically prescribed by your doctor to help with any discomfort.
The breast surgery healing process is different for everyone. Your surgeon will tell you when you can resume normal activity.
