Dance Yourself Thin?

One of the most popular shows on television today is “Dancing with the Stars.” Broadcast since 2005, the show has seen dozens of movie and TV stars, sports figures, models, singers and dozens of other “non-dancers” partner with professional dancers resulting in some amazing achievements.

These stars reportedly practice for six hours a day to learn their routines. As a delightful side effect, the show has also helped stars like Ricki Lake, Kirstie Alley, Kelly Osbourne, Marie Osmond, Kyle Massey and others drop weight, build muscle and lose inches. It is not uncommon for stars to lose 20 pounds or more on the show.

Wouldn’t it be nice to have the time to dance, exercise or play for six hours a day? Unless you become an overnight sensation, you probably won’t have the opportunity to go on “Dancing with the Stars” to lose weight. What you can do is find a physical activity that you enjoy doing and that increases your heart rate. If you are sedentary, start slow and gradually build up to 30 minutes to one hour of exercise a day, five times a week. Combined with a healthy diet, you should see your weight start to drop. If you don’t change your bad eating habits, you will not reach your goals. You must burn more calories than you consume.

Unfortunately, for some people, regular exercise and eating right simply isn’t enough to shed stubborn areas of fat. For these individuals, we may recommend liposuction in Aurora and Denver, Colorado to trim down specific areas that are resistant to your hard efforts. There are different types of liposuction that can be performed, such as laser liposuction, water-assisted liposuction, tumescent liposuction and others. A board certified plastic surgeon can help you determine the right type of liposuction for your unique situation.

If you are in “Dancing with the Stars” shape, but still have certain areas that you would like to trim down, contact Dr. Serota at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center today to schedule a Cosmetic Consultation at 303-367-9000 or serotamd.com to learn more about Denver liposuction.
