Don’t Let Age Stop You from Having Cosmetic Procedures
A recent study has shown that cosmetic procedures are equally as safe for adults over age 65 as they are for younger adults.* This is not to say that cosmetic procedures are not without possible complications.
In a review of statistics from 2008 to 2013, where the mean age of older patients was 69.1 years and the mean age of younger patients was 39.2 years, the older adults experienced a similar (low) rate of postoperative complications as compared to younger patients: 1.94% vs. 1.84%.
Patients age 80 years and older experienced a post-surgical complication rate of only 2.2%.
Abdominoplasty (tummy tuck surgery) was the one procedure that had a higher complication rate for older adults.

The best reassurance that you will have a successful cosmetic procedure, regardless of your age, is by choosing a board certified plastic surgeon in Aurora who has vast experience and a long track record of success. Don’t choose your surgeon based only on price or only on the recommendation of someone else. You must feel 100% confident in your surgeon’s abilities.
If you are over age 21 and are unhappy with the appearance of your face or body, cosmetic surgery procedures like Aurora facelifts, breast augmentation, and liposuction may help boost your confidence.
