Good Candidates for an Arm Lift
Prior to any treatment at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center with Dr. Serota, we require a consultation. During the consultation, we will determine if you are a good candidate for an arm lift and we will be able to demonstrate some of the results you might be able to expect from the procedure.
During this consultation, we will examine the size and shape of your arms. We will also examine your skin for quality, scars, muscle condition, and look for any current scars. To be a good candidate for an arm lift, you should have loose, sagging arm skin. This often appears after a large amount of weight loss or a large amount of fat within the arm. You also must be willing to accept a scar on the inside of your arm. This scar is the result of the surgery and removing excess skin. In a few cases, the results can be achieved through liposuction and not skin removal. If this is the case, you will have a small scar within your armpit.
Patients who are not good candidates for this procedure include people with Hidradenitis Suppurativa - a persistent ongoing infection of the sweat glands in their armpits. Patients can be treated for this condition and then receive an arm lift. Other patients that are not suitable candidates for this procedure are women who have had Radical Mastectomy or extensive breast cancer surgery, due to the risk of developing chronic arm swelling.
Dr. Serota at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center can help you regain your self-confidence through an arm lift. To see if you are a good candidate for this surgical procedure, schedule a cosmetic consultation: visit serotamd.com or call 303-367-9000.
