How to Prevent Crows Feet and Eye Wrinkles

There are a lot of myths about preventing or treating wrinkles around the eye area.  Whether you’re 30, 50 or even older, you know that prevention is the key to keeping a youthful appearance.  Here are some tips provided by the staff at Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center in Denver to help prevent eye wrinkles and crow’s feet:

  • Always use sunscreen.  It doesn’t matter if it’s winter or summer, snowy or not, sunscreen is a must. The sun reflects off of snow and can cause sun damage even in winter.  And don’t even think about skipping it in the summer.
  • Sunglasses are a must.  Consider sunglasses, even if you wear eye correction glasses.  You want to prevent squinting, both around the eye area and forehead.
  • Get plenty of sleep.  You’ve heard that everyone should get eight hours of sleep.  Here’s another reason why.  The more sleep you get, the more your body produces Human Growth Hormone, which helps thicken and strengthen the skin, aiding its youthful appearance.
  • Don’t smoke.  Here’s another reason not to light up.  Smoking causes premature aging and wrinkles.
