Travel after Breast Augmentation
One of the most common questions asked by patients before undergoing breast augmentation concerns travel.
At Advanced Cosmetic Surgery Center in Denver, we recommend a minimum of two weeks before any serious travel but this can depend on your procedure and health history. Your surgeon will discuss your travel plans with you. The first two weeks after surgery are the most critical for healing and for follow up visits with your surgeon. Also, a long flight is not advised during the first two weeks because your body is predisposed to blood clots during this time due to the surgery and inflammation. A short trip within easy distance of our office is possible and should be discussed before your surgery.
When you travel after breast augmentation, you will want to avoid lifting luggage or anything heavy for at least two weeks after surgery, and avoid reaching to place items in overhead bins.
Once your body is ready to travel, you should have no problems with cabin pressure and security scanners will not be a problem with breast implants.
